South of France Landscape French Wall Tapestry

Soft color around Lauragais countryside with a seated woman makes a friendly wall accent, woven in France, for an entryway.

This lovely tapestry depicts the countryside around Lauragais in southwestern France, with a female figure that sits at a clearing in the woods contemplating the water, a chateau and fisherman in the distance. The "verdure" theme comes from the classic traditions of 17th century Aubusson tapestry in its focus on the beauty of forest and plants life in a three-dimensional rendering. This tapestry is woven in France, using the famous Halluin stitch.
