Floral Composition in Green Italian Wall Tapestry

A scene of overflowing flowers on a green ground fills the wall, woven in Italy, ready for a bedroom.

This is an Italian jacquard woven wall tapestry. A captivating work featuring an abundance of flowers overflowing onto the table below. The detail of the petals and leaves and the subtle shading is masterfully executed. The use of widely varying colors: crimsons, violet blues, deep orange and olive greens in their variety of shades, to the composition of overlapping flowers with leaves protruding creates a balanced and engaging piece. The ornate border with its scroll and floral motifs complements the floral subject.
