Floral Composition in Dark Blue Italian Wall Tapestry

Quiet narrative from overflowing flowers on dark blue ground gives this hanging weight, woven in Italy, for a bedroom.

This is an Italian jacquard woven wall tapestry. A captivating work featuring an abundance of flowers overflowing onto the table below. The detail of the petals and leaves and the subtle shading is masterfully executed. The use of widely varying colors: crimsons, violet blues, deep orange and olive greens in their variety of shades, to the composition of overlapping flowers with leaves protruding creates a balanced and engaging piece. The ornate border with its scroll and floral motifs complements the floral subject.
