A jacquard woven tapestry pillow cover that was originally designed in 1885 by William Morris and based on his poem about Picus, the Italian King who was transformed into a woodpecker in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Book XIV. This classical work was the one of the most read books in the Middle Ages. William Morris, the famous English artist, has designed many fabrics and tapestries of world renown many of which now reside in the world's most prestigious museums.
